Event Management Agency celebrates 20 years
Event Management Agency Avenue Events has marked 20 years in the industry with a celebration for suppliers of the event industry at its Surrey office.
With cocktails, canapés, chef’s BBQ along with games, a golf challenge and a specially-baked birthday cake, over 50 guests enjoyed the occasion. Avenue Events Founder and Chairman of the Surrey office Helene Kemsley said: “It was great to celebrate this milestone with so many friends and industry professionals – we had a great party!”
Earlier this year, Helene’s son David was appointed as Managing Director of the Surrey office and he has an ambitious vision for the company.
Helene said: “Having passed on the role of MD to my son David at this 20-year threshold, I recognise that this is an industry driven by strong, creative young professionals. We are excited about our journey onwards. This role demands vibrancy, energy and determination, and David is ideally suited to take the reins. I will continue to support the business as director consultant – I still have a real passion for the events industry and I’m looking forward to many more years of success.”
The company started with a desk, a phone and a fax machine, sourcing venues for corporate events. 20 years on, an aggressive strategy is in place to develop and further enhance its full spectrum of event management services.
Avenue Events now employ in excess of 15 full time staff and plan more recruitment this year to further strengthen its position. Part of the companies’ growth and re-structure has been to open a brand new office in St Albans, with Managing Director Sarah Carter alongside Laura Drake, Client Services Director at the forefront of the Hertfordshire office.
The company is aiming to achieve a joint turnover of £8 million by 2020.
David Kemsley, Managing Director of the Surrey office said: “We have a vision, which is to be recognised as the leading boutique provider of live events. We started out in venue finding, and our main objective now is to strengthen the full service capabilities. We’re embracing a five-year plan, restructuring and focusing on future growth.”
